Frequently Asked Questions
We’ve compiled the most burning (or cooling, heh!) questions our HVAC gurus often get. Let’s jump in!
What exactly is HVAC?
HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. In simple terms, it’s the system that heats up your home during chilly nights and cools it down on sizzling summer days. The ventilation part? That ensures you’ve got clean and fresh air circulating around.
Why is my AC blowing warm air?
A few culprits could be behind this mischief. It might be a thermostat setting, a dirty evaporator coil, or low refrigerant levels. Best to have a pro take a peek if this happens.
How long does an HVAC system typically last?
With regular love and care, an HVAC system can last between 15-25 years. Keep in mind, individual components might have different lifespans. For instance, an AC unit might last 10-15 years, while furnaces can go up to 20 years.
Why is there a puddle around my unit?
Could be a few things! A clogged drain, a frozen evaporator coil, or a leak in the refrigerant are common causes. It’s essential to get this checked; water can cause damage or lead to mold.
How often should I service my HVAC system?
A general rule of thumb is at least once a year for each unit – get your AC checked in spring and your heating system in fall. Regular check-ups ensure everything’s running smoothly, efficiently, and safely.
Why should I consider a programmable thermostat?
A programmable thermostat can adjust the temperature when you’re not home or asleep. It helps in saving energy (hello, lower bills!) and ensures your home is just the right temperature when you return or wake up.
What’s a SEER rating?
SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. Think of it as the MPG (miles per gallon) for your AC. The higher the SEER rating, the more energy-efficient your unit is. And yes, that usually translates to savings on your energy bills!
Can I DIY my HVAC repairs?
We love the DIY spirit! But with HVAC, it’s best to tread carefully. Some minor tasks like changing filters? Go for it! But bigger issues, especially those involving electrical components or refrigerants, should be left to the pros.
Why is regular maintenance so crucial?
Think of it as a health check-up for your HVAC. Regular maintenance can prevent minor issues from becoming major headaches, ensure efficient performance (which can mean savings), and prolong the life of your system.
What’s the deal with indoor air quality?
Indoor air quality is all about how clean the air inside your home is. Factors like humidity, dust, and pollutants play a role. Good ventilation, regular maintenance, and air purifiers can help keep your indoor air fresh and healthy.

Which Brands do You Sell and Service?
Climatrol Air is a Factory Authorized Carrier dealer, but we service ALL brands and types of HVAC systems. Major air conditioning companies are very picky about with whom they do business, for good reason. A company that represents their brand could have a negative impact if they practice poor customer service or offer substandard work. For this reason, national brands, like Carrier, put all potential HVAC companies through a rigorous vetting process, to ensure that their customers get quality service with good customer service.
Are Your prices competitive?
It’s easy to simply say, “we have the best prices,” but great prices must be accompanied with great workmanship. We guarantee that we will give you the best price for the quality of work that we do. Rarely, almost never, are we beat on our pricing. In fact, the few times that it has happened, we were under-quoted by unlicensed or fly-by-night companies. We stand behind our work and our prices. If you would like to speak with us about Carrier heating and cooling, please call us at (706) 972-2041.

Climatrol Air is a locally owned company located in beautiful Ellijay, Georgia located at 1298 Old Hwy 5, Ellijay, GA 30540. We service the majority of North Georgia.
Is Climatrol Air Certified?
In Georgia, there really isn’t a “certification” process other than obtaining a state license. (Our license number is Ga. #CN210683) There is however a third party certification process that HVAC companies can elect to use to illustrate their company’s knowledge and commitment to ongoing education in the HVAC industry called “NATE,” or the NORTH AMERICAN TECHNICIAN EXCELLENCE. What is “Google Guaranteed?”
The Google Guarantee is available for businesses that pass a Google screening and qualification process that checks, among other things, the company’s insurance, license and performs a background check.
When you hire Climatrol Air you’re backed by the Google Guarantee, and if you aren’t satisfied with the quality of your work, Google may reimburse the amount paid for the initial service.
